AP Scholars Announced

Berman Upper School students have once again demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence through the recently announced AP Scholar awards.  These awards  recognize high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement on AP exams.

Last year, 12 AP (advanced placement) courses were offered to Berman students in 11th and 12th grades.  At the end of the year, students were encouraged but not required to take the AP exam.  Sixty-one students were up to the challenge and took one or more of these tests. Out of the 123 exams taken, 90% of our students received a 3 or higher on the exams.  This compares very favorably to the state average of 64%, and is our highest average in the past five years which has hovered around 85%. Even more remarkable is that 21 of our students qualified as AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honors, AP Scholars with Distinction and National AP Scholars. Congratulations to our students for challenging themselves and for achieving great results.
