NEW DIRECTOR OF EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
We are very excited to announce the hiring of Mrs. Beth Schoen as our new Director of Educational Support in our Middle and Upper Schools.
Mrs. Schoen comes to us with 16 years of experience in Educational Support at YULA and Shalhevet high schools in Los Angeles and additional experience as a social worker. She has directed the ESS program at both the boys and girls schools at YULA and comes with a sterling reputation as someone who understands the needs of students. Mrs. Schoen is skilled at providing academic and emotional support as well as faculty consultation for students with a range of learning challenges.
Mrs. Schoen will be moving to the area from Los Angeles with her husband and her three children, one of whom is currently in college.
We are committed to meeting the needs of all of our students, including those with diverse academic needs and learning styles. With that in mind, and using feedback from our parents’ survey, from teachers and from the ESS task force, Mrs. Schoen will help guide the process of implementing the changes necessary to ensure that our Educational Support continues to provide the right assistance to our students. Mrs. Schoen will work closely with classroom teachers, guidance counselors, and parents in an effort to ensure that students reach their academic potential and find success in their classrooms and beyond. We are truly fortunate to have someone with Mrs. Schoen’s experience join us at this crucial juncture and we are looking forward to her becoming part of our team over the summer.
